I guess this is suppose to be an awkward stage of growing up, but I'm not seeing it just yet. I do not think boys come much more handsome than our Coulson. He is now eleven!! He is so much fun to have around and full of happiness. He is a joy! He has an energy and a zest for life. He has amazing people skills and an enormous tease!!

He's not too fond of photo sessions, so I was lucky to catch a few gems. He really is a funny boy. He is a great older brother and he is always very protective!

This past General Conference is quite literally a handbook for parents during these tumultuous times. Elder Anderson said this of our children,
"We hold in our arms the rising generation. They come to this earth with important responsibilities and great spiritual capacities. We cannot be casual in how we prepare them. Our challenge as parents and teachers is not to create a spiritual core in their souls but rather to fan the flame of their spiritual core already aglow with the fire of their premortal faith."

I hope that I can fan that flame within my special son, Coulson. These children really are the leaders and heroes of tomorrow. I can see it in his eyes. He is my son, and it is my responsibility to build his self-image and encourage his growth as he continues to grow and make manifest his very important talents.
